The Sun Will Never Set on Our Hope
Remembering Sept. 11 2001

Following such travesty and
suffering,
some of us here searched for information that helped us to understand
better and to retain hope.
We found that these verses from the Bible helped us personally.
Despite all the evil in the world, "God
so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John
3:16
Hating the pain we saw with our very eyes, we thought
about evil in others, and then we also saw some of this in ourselves.
A wickedness is also in us. We could not deny it. That's why we read, "For all
have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
The contrast is between people, our frailties and weaknesses and God. "But God demonstrates his
own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died
for us." Romans 5:8 His perfect life and sacrifice for us was our payment to God.
So what do these
verses have to do with gaining hope in a world filled with evil?
We personally came to the
conclusion that is stated,
"That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. "
Romans 10:9 We are saved from the futility of our struggle, the failure of our world, and the hopelessness. We realized that we are given a chance and a choice to live in peace with God and man.
We all must
choose whether to return to hope in things that can be shattered,
or a different hope that can never be shaken.
